Collage

Started reading "Collage: Assembling Contemporary Art", Ed. Blanche Craig, Black Dog Publishing, London, UK, 2008.
Chapter 1: "Collage: Diversions, Contradictions and Anomalies" by Sally O'Reilly.
Notes: page 12, "suspicion that absurdity was itself part of the bourgeois malaise, an excuse for inaction ... it is from here that the indexical relationship between collage and empowerment - a dissent - stems".
page 15: "splice - saturates films of the Lettrists" ???
Page 17: (re: shredded and reassembled text) "the cloak of anonymity became the bade of the anti-establishment".
Page 19: meaning is proven to be neither universal nor fixed, but fathomed afresh with each reconfiguration of context.".
